International conference on draught animals

For thousands of years, draught animals have played a key role in the survival of many cultures. Even today, draught animals provide a livelihood for millions of people around the world. Whether in transportation, agriculture or forestry, draft animals can enable sustainable, environmentally friendly and economical ways of using land. Nevertheless, there are many challenges, be it the pressure of industrialized markets or politics, in terms of animal welfare, breeding or forms of stress. In addition, the total number of draft animals is constantly falling.

In 2021, our international and virtual conference intends to address these challenges. Experts from around the world will discuss the history, conservation, training and future of draft animals.
