Opening hours, tickets & info
Please note the different times and admission and ticket prices for your visit. The public tours take place with a minimum of 2 people. Tickets can be purchased spontaneously on site without prior reservation. Prior registration is required for groups of more than 10 people.
The hall can be freely viewed from the outside. The upper floor of the building can only be accessed as part of the public tour.

The Museum Center (MUZ) houses the monastery history section and the Lorsch Tobacco Museum – two very different topics, both of which are part of Lorsch’s history.
A changing special exhibition on various themes is presented on the upper floor.

- only with a guided tour (Tues – Sat).
- no guided-tours but admission with a ticket (Sun & bank holidays).

Please note that dogs are not allowed on the outdoor area to protect our farm animals.
“Open Lauresham” – explore the open-air laboratory without a guided tour”
On Sundays and public holidays, the open-air laboratory can be explored on your own. From 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., at the regular ticket price. There will be no public guided tours on this day, but employees will be on hand to explain the respective areas and buildings. In addition, there is always a demonstration or special activity in the area of “Life and work in the early Middle Ages”.
Here you can purchase admission tickets for the open-air laboratory and make purchases in our store. The guided tours of the open-air laboratory start here and the building houses the rooms for our courses and workshops.

All our facilities will remain closed on 24, 25 and 26 DEC, 31 DEC and 1 JAN as well as on „Faschingsdienstag“ (Shove Tuesday, Mardi Gras, Fat Tuesday).

Would you like to visit several of our museums / exhibitions / guided tours on the same day? Then you can save on admission. When purchasing a normal admission ticket (Königshalle with guided tour, Lauresham Sundays, Lauresham guided tour, Zehntscheune admission), you will receive the tickets at the other ticket offices at the reduced admission price.
