Research
The Lorsch Monastery World Heritage Site is a separate scientific department of the State Palaces and Gardens of Hesse. Thanks to the nearby museum center, an archaeological depot and close links with colleges and universities, research institutes and laboratories in Germany and abroad, Lorsch is a starting point and partner for research and teaching worldwide.
But the World Heritage Site is not an ivory tower. Rather, it aims to implement the results of research and teaching in cultural education in the broadest sense on site. Whether in the daily guided tours for guests, the wide range of museum education and adult education, with the help of exhibitions, working with models and replicas or in the form of experimental archaeology, special tours or specialist lectures: All of the World Heritage Site’s offerings are science-based.
